One BIG clutch out of Venus by Osiris

Venus did a very good job~ 32 eggs~ ALL of them look good!  WOW that's a big clutch!!
Venus weighed 625 grams BEFORE she began breeding in Feb.  About three weeks before the clutch was laid she weighed 650 grams (on March 15).  The HUGE clutch was laid on April 6th, and after the clutch she weighed ONLY 404 grams!
This picture of Venus weighing 422 grams was taken after two feedings.  She was a HUNGRY girl after laying more than a third of her body weight in eggs~ she even ate when offered during the height of her post egg laying shed!
Can't wait to see what will come out of these beautiful little eggs in early June!!

The babies started hatching on June 15th.  The first baby was all the way out of the egg before the others even started pipping!  I was worried, but Mother Nature has her own time schedule, and by the 20th all the babies had finally emerged.  Final count is 24 babies.
Looks like they may turn into some nice Reverse Okeetees.  They are all het Anery (snow).

It only took about 10 minuites of inattention for this to happen

I really hate it when I do stupid things

The moss is burned into the plastic

Banshee produced 14 eggs from RA on 6-8-04.  Sadly on 7-8-04 I stupidly set a heat lamp on the incubator and forgot about it.  The lamp burned into the incubator and liquid plastic dripped into the egg container.  Only the moss covering the eggs kept the ripping hot plastic from actually touching the eggs.  The temps in the container must have exceeded safe temps (80 to 85 F) by a considerable margin.
Somehow 8 eggs still hatched~
but 7 of them were kinked. 

 

I love the broders on this baby!

Amels and Normals

When her red seperates more from her black will she have those great borders?

Venus produced 14 eggs from Ra on 6-27-04.  All 14 eggs hatched and are doing great.   Looks like there may be several nice "Reverse Okeetee's" in there~ so I am very much looking forward to seeing what the "Normals" will look like from this clutch.  Just below this you can see pics of 03' holdbacks from Ra's first clutch with Hathore.  Those babies have nice light backgrounds~ hopefully these will too!  You can see these babies for sale over on the "Available" page.

04' Amels were extra small! 03' and 04' Full Siblings 03' and 04' Full Siblings

Hathore produced 14 eggs from Ra on 7-10-04.  Only 4 of these eggs hatched (Not sure why so many failed to hatch in this clutch)  2 amels and 2 normals.  These babies should be just as attractive as their full siblings from last year.

On 4-13-03 Banshee laid 12 beautiful eggs by Mr. Cleo.
Unfortunately only two eggs from this clutch hatched, and only one survived.

Almost no black borders, I think he's a pretty good hypomelanistic

This clutch was my first, and I had a difficult time calibrating my incubator.

On 5-13-03 Hathore laid 22 beautiful eggs.
Hatching began on 7-23

 I was so thrilled to see all those litte red faces!!
I was surprised to see amels hatching with the normals in this clutch.  The amels proved that Ra must be het Amel.
I held back 0.2 Normals and 0.2 Amels from this clutch to breed back to Ra in 05'
